  56. Name That State for Windows ("NTS") is a geography program 
  57. intended for use by middle grade school students. However it is useful 
  58. for anyone wanting to learn the geography of the United States. It is 
  59. programmed to run with Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, and Windows 
  60. 95. It may reside on a floppy disk or hard drive.

  65. Name That State for Windows ("NTS") is a geography program 
  66. intended for use by middle grade school students. However it is useful 
  67. for anyone wanting to learn the geography of the United States. It is 
  68. programmed to run with Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, and Windows 
  69. 95. It may reside on a floppy disk or hard drive.

  71. With NTS you can learn, then test your knowledge about the United 
  72. States and its capitals. You'll find out when each state came into the 
  73. union, its' nickname and why it's called that. The program is 
  74. completely 'menu driven' and has six (6) modes of operation:
  75.  
  76. 1) Study states - The states are displayed in a random order showing the 
  77.     state capital, date in union, state nickname and how the nickname 
  78.     came to be, and a piece of trivia about the state.
  79.  
  80. 2) Test on states - A state is highlighted on the US map, and displayed 
  81.     on an inset. The user is then asked to select which state this is from 
  82.     four choices. The states are displayed randomly as are the multiple 
  83.     choice. This state can be put back in the shuffle if desired. If the 
  84.     answer is correct, the state is removed from the shuffle and painted 
  85.     on the US map. A right/wrong score is then displayed. If the 
  86.     answer is wrong, the state is removed from shuffle and saved for 
  87.     review after all 50 states have been presented. In either case the data 
  88.     on each state is displayed when the answer is given (ie: capital,date
  89.     in union, etc...).

  91. 3) Test on capitals - This is the same as 'Test on states' mode except the 
  92.     multiple choice is of four (4) different cities.

  94. 4) Show states - A state name is given and the user selects that state 
  95.     from the U.S. Map. A mouse is required for this mode.
  96.  
  97. 5) Show capitals - A state capital is given and the user selects the state 
  98.     with that capital from the U.S. Map. A mouse is required for this 
  99.     mode.

  101. 6) Review - This mode is entered automatically if any answer was 
  102.     incorrect. A review of all missed states or capitals is presented.

  119. it, along with a check or money order for $20 (US) dollars, to Fast
  120. Accurate Computer Technologies, Inc. (FACTs). We will send you a

  122. trial period. If there is a newer version of the program we'll send you
  123. that as well.
